Expected lifespan is ApplianceEdge's estimate, formed from category lifetime data, service records and warranty terms. It is not a prediction for your unit and not a manufacturer figure — with proper care and maintenance, many appliances last well beyond this range. Everything else on this tab is written from the record's fields. Sources: LG warranty
What to Expect
LG runs its own factory service in most major metros, with authorized local servicers everywhere else. Genuine parts go through Encompass Parts Distribution and LG's own store, so independents can get them. Before paying for a compressor repair, check the 10-year compressor term — it's parts only, but it's real. Full warranty terms are in Owning It.

Easy DIY: basic tools, under an hour. Moderate: some disassembly. Advanced: experience with the machine's internals. Technician: sealed-system, electrical or tub-split work.
Parts prices don’t move much across the country; labor does. If a technician supplies the part, expect 40–50% on top of the part price.

Data You Can Trust
This page draws on the ApplianceEdge Registry — 2,600 appliance families connected to more than 9,400 verified models, independently researched. We don’t know everything about this family yet, and we won’t pretend to: finish records and filter and accessory cross-references for this platform are still being verified. We only publish what we can stand behind, and the gaps close as the Registry grows.
ApplianceEdge assessments — lifespans, repair values, and reliability notes — are our editorial opinions, built from documented third-party sources: owner reports, industry pricing data, manufacturer literature, and official records. They describe patterns across a product family, not any individual machine; your experience may differ. Recall information links directly to official CPSC notices. We accept no payment from manufacturers, and no brand influences what we publish.
